Hong Kong China News Agency, July 7 — At the press conference held on July 7 for the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, a relevant official from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that, according to estimates, the scale of China’s core AI industry will exceed RMB 1.2 trillion by 2025. This year, China’s humanoid robot industry is expected to exceed 100,000 units in annual full-machine production.

To date, China has developed nearly 200 key standards in the field of artificial intelligence. Chinese enterprises have actively embraced the open-source paradigm, with their large‑model downloads ranking first worldwide. Open‑source communities such as AtomGit have attracted over 11 million registered users, and the AI ecosystem continues to improve.

At present, the adoption rate of artificial intelligence among China’s large-scale industrial enterprises has exceeded 30%, and humanoid robots are beginning to enter factories and production workshops.

According to the press conference for the 2026 World Robot Conference held the previous day, from January to May this year, the operating revenue of China’s large-scale robot enterprises exceeded RMB 90 billion, up 26.9% year on year. China has been the world’s largest industrial robot market for thirteen consecutive years, and the market share of domestically branded industrial robots in China has surpassed 50%. In the first quarter of this year, China’s humanoid robot exports increased by 210% year on year.

In addition, the 2026 World Robot Conference will be held from August 19 to 23 in the Beijing Economic‑Technological Development Area, under the theme “Human‑Machine Symbiosis, Integration of Production and Demand.”
