British Defense Secretary John Healy announced this plan on the same day after an online defense ministers' meeting attended by representatives from over 40 countries. The UK Ministry of Defence has announced that an additional £ 115 million will be allocated for related tasks, to be used for unmanned mine clearing equipment and anti drone systems.

According to the plan, Typhoon fighter jets with practical experience will carry out aerial patrol missions, and mine clearance experts will also participate in related operations. The British destroyer "Dragon" is heading to the Middle East to participate in the operation, equipped with the "Sea Viper" air defense system with anti drone capabilities.

Healy stated in the statement that the UK is working with its allies to maintain security in the Strait of Hormuz. The newly deployed anti drone systems, warships, and fighter jets will help enhance international commercial shipping confidence and mitigate the impact of regional conflicts on the UK.

The UK Ministry of Defence emphasized that the operation is strictly defensive in nature and aims to ensure the safety of international shipping.

As part of its defense operations, the UK has deployed over 1000 combat personnel in the Middle East, including anti drone teams and fighter squadrons.

Previously, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Babadi warned on social media on the 10th that the appearance of French and British warships in the Strait of Hormuz would provoke a "decisive and immediate response" from Iranian armed forces.

Last week, the French Ministry of Defense announced that the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle had passed through the Suez Canal to enhance regional security and prepare for a multinational escort operation in the Strait of Hormuz. French President Macron stated during his visit to Kenya on the 10th that France has "never considered" deploying a navy in the Strait of Hormuz, but plans to "coordinate" security operations with Iran.
