On the evening of September 24, local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan arrived at the White House by car to attend a welcome banquet hosted by US President Trump and his wife Melania.

The Office of the First Lady of the United States released details that day, including the dinner menu and the venue’s decorations.

According to a statement released by the White House, this state dinner was hosted and prepared by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump and took place in the East Room of the White House. In addition to the official delegates from China and the United States, U.S. government officials and business leaders were also invited to attend.

It is reported that US business leaders attending the banquet included Avida CEO Huang Renxun, Tesla CEO Musk, Meta CEO Zuckerberg, Apple Board Executive Chairman Cook, OpenAI CEO Altman, Google CEO Pichai, Microsoft CEO Nadella, Amazon Chairman Bezos, etc.

The White House summed up the menu as: mainly American ingredients, while skillfully incorporating Chinese elements, hoping to integrate the culinary traditions of the two countries.

Guests began with a toast to a sparkling wine from the Schramsberg Winery in California, USA. The White House specifically mentioned that this arrangement is to pay tribute to the historic "peace toast" with Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai in Beijing during US President Nixon's visit to China in 1972. Since then, Schramsberg Vineyards’ sparkling wines have consistently been featured at diplomatic events at the White House.

Second course: Sesame Crispy Sea Bass, Stewed White Vegetables with Roasted Eggplant and Green Sauce. Dessert: Vanilla cream mousse with White House honey ice cream, walnut-almond cream tart with sour cherry jam.

In addition to the menu, the White House also deliberately incorporated Chinese elements into the banquet hall’s decor this time. The evening’s decorations drew upon the deep-rooted cultural significance of red in Chinese history. The vase is filled with blooming red flowers. The dining table is set with a rich red tablecloth, adorned with dahlias and ranunculus. Among the seasonal flowers, the dining table also features gilded silverware from the White House collection, set with the Reagan state banquet dinnerware.

During the dinner, there were several performances, with Christopher Macchio as the headlining guest. The tenor sang at President Trump's inauguration in 2025. The entertainment program is performed by the military bands of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army.
